Funny story about a Westboro protest

One of my Facebook friends lives in the Boston area. There's a big resort on Cape Cod that has a mostly gay clientele, and the Phelps clan decided to protest.

Just one problem.

The protest was in October, and this resort is pretty much deserted after Labor Day.

In addition, the local newspaper and other media decided not to mention that they would be in town. No newspaper article, nothing on TV or radio, zip. So, they got out of their cars with their signs, and when no reporters or counter-protesters showed up, after about 20 minutes, they packed up and left.

That is the best way to deal with these D%^&*ebags, don't give them the attention that they crave and they will eventually do something stupid or just go away.

Obviously you're not a golfer. - Dude

Yes, it is the best way to deal with them. They thrive on attention, especially hate-filled response to their own hatred. It fills them with power.

I wonder what f'd up explanation the good reverend gave his flock for why God didn't make anybody show up for their little show-off?
