Anything with Ray Liotta in it

Anything with Ray Liotta in it is not going to be as good as it could have been without him in it.

Chea. Smoke some more crack buddy. Before you comment, enlighten yourself by watching such film classics as The Goodfellas.

Narc was awesome.....and that was due mainly to his performance.....although Patric was solid as well.

You could say that about more mainstream famous actors like Will Smith or Orlando Bloom or whatever, they being the safe thing, makes the film a safe bet,s most big films with moviestars and not actors in them would be much better with lesser known actors in the leads, give the film a more unpredictable feeling.

Goodfellas better without Ray? No,it´s the chemistry and group dynamic the tro shares that helps make the movie great and since he is better then both DeNiro(character had no personality) and Pesci in that one,I disagree. Pesci repeating the performance in Casino only emphasize his range as a gangsteractor.

Identity is a mindfu<k but very entertaining....you take away Liottas intensity and tenacity as Rhodes and the film lose alot of suspense and tension, with mighty John Cusack to carry it alone or maybe Ray could´ve been replaced by Josh Lucas? Clive Owen. Tim McGraw....

Unlawful Entry, the film doesn´t work without his psychotic smile and eyes.
Though born to be typecasted as a cop, despite having the big break in a gangsterflick, few cop performances top his Oak in Narc. Cop performances, period.

In that particular role,he has an intensity and weight other actors can dream of and very few could have done it as good and since he didn´t get Oscarnommed for that,he never will be.

Playing Depps father in Blow, the guy played it subtle,low-key and surprisingly heartwarming. Despite less then a decade older,it worked. Film better cause he is in it.

DeNiro had a mustasche,Keitel was satan,Stallone proved that he could act by gaining weight but when it came to the best performance,Liotta was more or less singled out,the character had layers and a moral ambiguity, something the film was pretty much missing,so they called it His redemption.though not much competition. Great performance, the corrpt cop with a moral code is his trademark, perfected there and the corrupt, greedy, sinister cop was perfected in The Place beyond the Pines and I think his charisma alone usually makes your argument a moot point. Something Wild or...even Field of dreams would be better without him,Crossing over? No...perfect tangerine sleazeball there.

Then we have hysterical choices like Gangster Ray playing an evil sorcerer in a film with Statham and Perlman directed by Uwe Boll. Of course he was eating his own brain in a completely pintless role anyone could´ve played since it didn´t have any bite or edge in Hannibal, when he really started to go downwards, not even getting billing alongside Love-Hewitt and Weaver...

Anyhow, before,it was a few bad choices, like that Absolom crap that kept him...and Garcia...from getting a shot at being the new Al and Bobby...latest years, although he now frequently is getting billing and getting such for a minor role alongside Cooper,Gosling and Mendes indicates respect and that he´s not finished.

Unfortunately,he is A-films William Forsythe or Madsen and take whatever work he can, while he can,so for every great film, there´s two decent and a sucky. Everytime he starts gaining some new respect,he goes and does something very stupid, like play Markie Trattman in Killing them softly....he embarrassed himself and the film would be better without him, true. Watch ER;Time of death, for which he won some awards and say he can´t be beyond great....oh,that´s right. FILM.

Otherwise,I´d say you are pretty extremely wrong and it´s all about opinions so...not trying to sway ya.

I'm with OP. Don't like Liotta at all. And Gooding is so pretty weak as an actor lately.

I just wish he hadn't tattooed his eye liner.
