2 years of editing??

This movie finished shooting on September 2007, but was released on November 2009! :p

They must have been trying to make it funny!

I think it was not as good as the filmmakers envisaged hence re-edits.

Its that man again!!

Is this a serious question? No they do not take two years to edit and shame on everyone for going along with that notion. They shelved it for 2 years because apparently it sucks. They do that when movies are made that are BAAAD.

It was because Bernie Mac died

More to do with the fact that they tested it to an audience who did not like it, re-shot and re-edited, the audience did not like it, re-edited, the audience still did not like and then dumped it in the cinemas and hoped for the best.

It's that man again!!

More about Bernie Mac than anything

Here it is from the trivia section of this movie, the movie was postponed on release 3 times, and one of the times was because of Berine Mac's death, but people here are aware it was delayed 2 more times for two more reasons. But I wouldn't imagine it would take 2 years to edit a movie.

The film's release date was postponed three times. First, due to Bernie Mac's untimely death. The second time was for the death of John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son, Jett Travolta. The final time was because Robin Williams had a health scare that required surgery. All of the postponement ultimately caused the movie to be released more than a year after the original, intended release date, finally releasing on November 25, 2009.
