great roots music for todays teens since rocks on life support

the movie was enjoyable but the one thing one can truly hope for was that the teens of this new generation pick up on all of the classic songs that influenced generations of artists..if this movie gets one kid to go out and buy a Velvet Underground cd or David Bowie, also the great scene explaining about the Mick Jagger/Peter Tosh collaboration in "walk dont look back".the ska influence wich was on a big upswing in the late 90's and fizzled out soon after was also shed to light.
this was a enjoyable movie but as someone who's 42 and have been brought up on everything from classic rock, punk, new wave ska, reggea, hardcore one can really say that rock is on life support these days thanks to MTV and reality tv shows.i think one day rock will go the way of jazz seen live in small clubs rather than the stadiums and arenas it once dominated, now its studio musicians with american idol finalists and i couldnt find a new song here in the states that i liked if i scanned the airwaves for weeks on end, there must be some good stuff out there actually im sure there is but its good that the kids of whats left of todays rock movement know where it ccame from, this movie did a decent job giving a little history to the style of the band the kid put together, not just another teen flick..not bad at all..and i hope rock lives on..

july 13th 1985 the day the world rocked "LIVE AID" JFK Stadium USA / Wembley stadium U.K.
