Cliffhanger ?

I know that it's often said that TSSM was a show that ended on a cliffhanger but I can't really say that I agree with that sentiment. Cliffhanger would imply that we were left hanging or didn't get to see a proper conclusion to the story but personally, this is far from the case. In "Closing Night", I thought we were treated to the perfect wrap up of the biggest story of the first two seasons. We saw the mystery of the Green Goblin revealed and we saw him soundly defeated by Spidey. We also saw the drama in Peter Parker's life reach it's peak and the New York City crime scene was shattered.

Sure, the show didn't end in a happy place but it wasn't as though it cut off just as Spider-Man and Goblin were about to face off or anything. We had an actual ending. As serial as Spider-Man has always been, I think that the only ways to really definitively end it would be for Peter to either die or quit web-slinging. I'm much happier with what we saw here though which was an ending to a really great run. Sure, there were a million more stories that Weisman and crew could have told, and I would have loved to see them tell those, but I just really appreciate what we got at the end of season 2.

After having to deal with so many years of animated series that were aborted with actual cliffhangers or that ended in places that were less than dynamic, it just feels so awesome that this show had such an amazing finale ( as much of a downer as it was).

I wasn't really a cliffhanger but man I would've loved to see what old Norman was up to next.

Go ahead! Make my millenium!

Same here. Knowing how Weisman had the show planned out with a semester = a season, we probably wouldn't have seen that until season 4 or 5 though. I think Osborn would have had to lay low for at least a year while he got everything back in his control.

Don't apologise. I never do.
