60 FPS

Richard Gazowsky talks near the beginning about shooting on 70mm film, at 60fps. He said that the camera team advised 24fps. As they never said anything further, I'm guessing they really did shoot at 60fps?

If this is the case, wouldn't the entire movie be in slow motion when played back? Real time is 24fps. Anything faster is over-cranking the camera, anything slower than 24fps is under-cranked, things play back faster.

I wished the doc showed the footage they had - however little. All we're ever able to see is what the video assist can see, but that's just a small video camera inside the camera lens, and runs the same speed regardless of how fast the film is being run.

Wouldn't anyone on the crew tell Richard about the slow motion issue? Did they just decide they'd edit in post, and correct the speed then? I really want to get answers to this!

the DVD extras/bonus material include 2 shots from the GRAVITY movie and they are both in slow motion.
