Merde was the best of the three

Merde was so weird and kind of fun. The other two just did not capture me. Tries to be like Paris j'taime, but fails. Not terrible, but not that great either.

I thought Merde was the worst. It really annoyed me. And why the hell didn't that ugly creature die?

reply

I thought it was good, but not the best.

I can;t choose between Shaking tokyo and Interior Design.. I loved the transformation in ID..

reply

allow me to disagree... I thought Merde was a pretentious piece of *beep* that said, Gondry's Interior Design was first with Takyo Shaking second.

reply

Really? Pretentious?
You have no sense of humor, I'm glad I could get some laughs out of Merde.

Merde or Shaking Tokyo. I can't decide which is best.

Tokyo Shaking: 9/10
Interior Design: 8/10
Merde: 5/10

Merde made me think, "I guess this is what happens when you pay Leos Carax in advance and give him complete creative control".

The "Merde" character was my favourite part of Holy Motors, but this is a whole nother level of indulgent, disturbing, irreverent dark humour! I'm not sure Carax particularly gives a s--- about Tokyo though... I have to wonder what Japanese audiences made of this???

It made me cry, it made me smile, it made me shake my head saying "What the actual *beep*?". And all at the same time!

I thought both Gondry and Bong's films were great, but this one – right in the middle – sticks out like a sore ballsack. I guess it was my favourite. It'll certainly be the most memorable.
