New series is poor

NOTHING in ep2 made me laugh, and only 2 sketches were 'decent' in ep3........and the gun-toting arabs soon got boring.
Can see why its on late on BBC2 on a sunday evening......its lame!
The Citroen ads are particually 'unfunny'

Sorry, completely disagree. I think this series is a marked improvement on previous ones, and I would say the best thing the pair have done since the heyday of Harry Enfield/Fast Show in the 90s.

There is some astute social commentary in there: The Minor Royals who say it "couldn't matter less" that William and Kate have stolen their limelight, the "I saw you coming" boutique shop owner and his sloane ranger clients, the "Everything is better in Scotland" pub bore paired with the spaced out, longhaired Scot.

Then a few that are reminiscent of the Fast show, the Greek granny "I curse you" and the two old men in their London club going through the newspaper looking for "queers".

Like any sketch show there is a bit of filler, to me the "Citron" sketch and "parking Pataweyo" fall in this category, but overall I think this a great sreies so far!

Yes, the 'minor Royals' ARE good, the one *beep* of light in the series.
Parking Patawayo is embarrassing.
The 'Fast Show' comparrisons you made are intresting in that to me, the majority of these new sketches look like cast-off material that ended up on the cutting floor from Fast Show episodes.
Still, each to his own.

I think it's darker than before, and more close to the bone, but I like it better for it. I wasn't laughing for 'mirth' so much as in appreciation of their observations, or else I was thinking how far can they go... So actually I am confused about series 4 episode 6 - was it really supposed to be a compilation, or was episode 6 pulled for some reason and the compilation put in? Any answers?
