Rebecca's character was just awful.

I honestly couldn't understand how this character had so many fans. She had practically no character development throughout the series. Even when she turned "nice", she was still so unpleasant and selfish. She's wronged almost every character on the show:

-Was nasty to Casey her entire first year. Didn't know Evan was her boyfriend, but when she found out rubbed it in her face. After Casey put her membership on the line for Rebecca in front of Tegan, Rebecca still treated her coldly during the election period (and most times after that).

-Used Cappie to irritate her father

-Treated Rusty like dirt during the Mr. Purrfect contest

-Kissed Ashleigh's boyfriend

-Cheated on Evan

-Was a complete BITCH to Dale about hanging around the sorority house (NO one else cared)

-Made fun of Calvin's boyfriend for being stupid, caused problems with Calvin and Heath and didn't seem to care

She is just nasty. She's only had a few redeeming moments throughout the entire series. I got so sick of seeing Casey run and be there for her only for Rebecca to forget about it by the next episode and be nasty to Casey.

I thought in Season 6 they would finally develop her for the better, but in almost every episode she was bratty and selfish. She was the worst choice for president. The way she treated the girls and basically whored out Heather was beyond irritating.

She has got to be one of the worst characters in TV history. Usually with these kinds of characters they make them more sympathetic as it goes on, but I saw none of that with her. I feel sorry for Dilshad for having to play such a horrible person.

Don't forget... Rebecca also humiliated Evan with that whole "Cappie's better in bed than you" thing... even making Casey say it. I felt so sorry for him.

I honestly think Rebecca treated Evan worse than he ever treated her. And yet the show didn't acknowledge this. Instead Evan was the screw-up who had regrets and apologized to her in the end.

Did Rebecca ever apologize to *anyone* she wronged? I think that would've helped...if she actually showed remorse. The actress had good comic timing and all that, but I couldn't feel sorry for her character, not even in the final season when she was supposedly "reformed".

Exactly. I couldn't believe it when Evan went over to her and said "Can we just both admit we made mistakes and move on" and she looks at him and says, "I haven't made any mistakes." Is she f-ing serious? She was terrible to him on multiple occasions during their relationship.

I HATED her at first but she grew on me in later seasons since she became nicer. It's been awhile sinceI saw Greek though
I always found her hilariously evil lol. Evan was far worse

I loved her too and preferred her with Cappie. Actually, she and Ashleigh were my faves.

I aim to misbehave!

I usually love the bitchy character like Rebecca but I just hated her I thought she was awful.

Rebecca is a slut like Madison Sinclair in Veronica Mars..

Agreed.
I just loved to hate her, especially in the beginning.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

reply

Agreed.

But I think what really pissed me off about Rebecca was how in season 4 episode when they were celebrating Calvin's bday, she was made the victim. Rebecca first asked the completely inappropriate question to Casey of who was better in bed? Cappie or Evan...humiliating Evan, the she asked him why they hadn't slept with each other? Here she is, just a sorority girl and her bf is in his first semester of Law School, trying to make it in the real world without money and she makes it all about why it isn't the "rebecca show" 24/7!?

And I HATED how Evan, in the finale, is the one to apologize to Rebecca and say he screwed things up, when in reality it was Rebecca and her behavior (piting Cappie against Evan at the pinning ceremony, during the truth or kiss game) that caused a rift.

Idk that just really bothered me more than anything else.

Even though there are a lot of things about Rebecca that irritate me, I actually understand where she's coming from with Evan. Yes, I get that Evan had a lot of real world pressures, but I don't think it excuses how neglectful he was towards Rebecca and acted like her problems didn't matter as much now that he wasn't involved in the Greek system. And I think what set her off at Calvin's birthday was watching her boyfriend treat her like some kind of trophy to impress his professor with.

I think my issue with Rebecca is the way she handled her issues with Evan. She should have just told him she wasn't happy instead of resorting to such immature tactics.
