POSSIBLE SPOILER - Reference in episode 3?

In episode 3 when the police officer was talking to Ricardo, and he asks about Lirio (the nina), and he says " ..Seriously, How many bounty hunters drag a kid around with them everywhere. What do you think this is, a Japanese Samurai show?" I immediately thought of the series "Wolf and Cub". Could anyone name any other series that he was referring to?
