IMHO, Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of Janet Leigh was very good and classy, and far superior to Jessica Biel's portrayal of Vera Miles.
I find Scarlett Johansson and Janet Leigh to be equally good looking, just different.
Have you ever wondered about the changing tastes of the human species when it comes to 'beautiful' or 'unbeautiful' men and women?
Today, we are mostly appalled by the ugliness of men & woman who used to be 'attractive' in their day & age. Although homo sapiens has existed for 200.000 years, our standards for 'beauty' are very unlike the relatively recent 17th, 18th, 19th, and even 20th century standards. That's called fashion.
Today, we can make fun of 'beauty standards' or 'sex appeal standards' from even the latter half of the 20th century, such as wasp tails, artificial eye-lashes, beauty pimples, beehive and afro hair styles, platform shoes, safety-pinned noses, aerobic accessories, and what not.
The consequence is that our own, 'modern' taste should also be regarded as volatile. And that blunt statements about former revered actresses such as 'Janet Leigh is very unbeautiful' lack a certain mature self-reflection.
