Backlash 2007 Review
Backlash took place from Atlanta Georgia and since Raw/Smackdown/ECW are all on the show, they are being called by each shows commentators.
Match #1
Raw Tag Team Match
The Hardy Boyz Vs Lance Cade And Trevor Murdoch
Matt starts with Lance Cade and Matt handles both heels with hiptosses. Trevor gets double teamed and Jeff hits a dropkick for 2. Double elbow gets 2. Jeff hits both guys with a tope con hilo outside. Matt does his yelling legdrop for 2 on Murdoch. Blind charge misses and Murdoch gets a clothesline from behind. Cade and Murdoch whip him into the corner and Cade goes for a powerbomb but Matt tags Jeff and he lands on his head while trying a baseball slide. Cade gets a powerbomb for 2. Over to Murdoch who adds a sarcastic Matt yell before dropping a leg on Jeff for 2. He blocks Jeff's jawbreaker and kicks him down for 2. Cade pounds him down and a short clothesline gets 2. Murdoch with a suplex, but Jeff blocks into a small package for 2. Murdoch drops an elbow and Cade uses the chinlock. Jeff escapes with the jawbreaker, but Murdoch cuts off the tag. Backdrop suplex gets 2. They take turns beating on Jeff's back, but he gets away and goes to tag so Trevor knocks Matt off the apron. Murdoch runs into Jeffs foot and doesn't sell it, and Jeff hottags. Bulldog for Murdoch gets 2 for Matt. Matt gets the Side Effect for 2, but Cade hits a flying elbow to break it up. Sunset flip gets 2. Matt comes back with the twist of fate, and Jeff sneaks in with the swanton and the pin at 15:18. Call it 3 stars I guess.

Womens Championship Match
Melina Vs Mickie James
Mickie takes her down with a fireman's carry and Mickie gets a monkey flip for 2. Melina goes to the headlock and Melina reverses out, then she acts like she lost a contact lens or got poked or something, then sucker punches Mickie. Mickie brings her out of the corner and decides to go up and Melina dumps her to the floor. Back in, Melina gets a hairtoss for 2. Mickie does a full nelson using her legs. Mickie makes the ropes, and gets a cradle for 2, but Melina chokes her out in the corner. Mickie fights back, and Melina takes her down with a senton while ramming her head into the mat. That gets 2. Mickie comes back and tries a high kick, but drops with a leg split so Melina tries kicking her and also does the split. Mickie makes the comeback. Clotheslines and a hairtoss then a neckbreaker gets 2. Mickie goes up and a high cross gets 2. Melina backs into the corner and catches her with a high kick, and an inverted DDT keeps her the title at 9:02. This was alot better than 90% of the **** theyve been crapping out of the womens division for the past 5 years. 2 1/2 stars.

United States Championship Match
Chris Benoit Vs Montel Vontavious Porter
Benoit takes him down with a facelock and goes for the crossface. MVP makes the ropes and bails. Back in, MVP takes him down with a headlock and they trade hits until Benoit goes to a headscissors, and from there into the bridge and backslide for 2 from Benoit. Benoit tries the Sharpshooter but he makes the ropes. Benoit pounds on him in the corner, but MVP comes back with a high kick to the back of the head for 2. MVP with an overhead belly to belly for 2. Benoit does the rolling germans. He goes for the top, but MVP grabs his leg to keep him from heading up. Benoit suplexes him instead. MVP with a stungun for 2. Benoit comes back with a crossface, but they're too close to the ropes again. MVP hooks Benoit in a crucifix submission, but gets caught using the ropes, so he switches to a high kick for 2. Another try is countered to the german suplexes. Benoit goes for the top again but gets knees on the way down. MVP uses a half crab but Benoit makes the ropes. He tries a suplex, but Benoit tries to counter to the crossface, and when MVP shifts his weight to block it, Benoit counters again to a small package for the win at 13:10. Good stuff there. 3 stars.
Orton tries to make friends with Cena and he accuses him of being gay. Orton makes it worse and Faarooq earns his paycheck.

Handicap ECW Championship Match
Bobby Lashley Vs Umaga, Vince McMahon And Shane McMahon
Shane quickly gets pounded in the corner. Spinebuster and Shane bails. Umaga comes in and Lashley hammers on him as well but Umaga fires back and stomps him down. Lashley leapfrogs him in the corner, however and clotheslines him to the floor. Shane comes back in and gets suplexed and Lashley continues slugging on Umaga, but Shane trips him up. Umaga sends him into the post and we head back in. Shane goes to work on the arm with a fujiwara armbar and an armbreaker. Lashley powers out of that and gets 2. Umaga in and he tries a bearhug then a samoan drop. Shane drops an elbow and now goes to the back, and a camel clutch. Comeback for Lashley as he backdrops Shane and gets a torture rack into a backbreaker for 2. Powerslam gets 2, but Vince breaks it up and they mug Lashley. Lashley rolls up Vince for 2. Umaga does a flying splash and Vince tags in for 2 so Umaga is instructed to do it again and this time Vince gets the pin at 15:45 and wins the ECW championship in the process. Joey Styles and Tazz act shocked. I considered THIS to be ECWWE's death. 1/2 star for this ****
Backstage Vince and Shane mock the originals who are totally pussy whipped.

World Championship Last Man Standing Match
The Undetaker Vs Batista
Taker charges in with a boot and an elbow to start, but Batista stops him with an elbow. Taker gets the flying clothesline and goes old school, but Batista catches him with a powerslam. Batista chases him to the floor and they brawl. Taker kicks the taped leg of Batista, and stays on it. Batista gets to the apron, where Taker guillotines him. Batista sends him into the stairs and they head back in, but Batista tries to go up and gets caught. Taker brings him down with a superplex, and there's something you don't see from him every match. Both guys are up at 7. Taker slam and legdrop and Batista is up at 4. Batista gives him some and Taker is up at 6. Taker tosses him and gets the announce table ready but Batista whips him into the railing. Taker gets a backbreaker and Batista is up at 7. Taker bashes Batista with the steps and he bleeds but is up at 5. UT works on the cut and he props Batista on the table and does a legdrop from the barricade onto Batista through the table. Batista beats the count and the crowd booe's him for it. Corner clotheslines from Taker and snake eyes, but Batista hits a suprise spear. That gets 7, and Batista hits him with a spinebuster. Taker gets up, so he gives him another one, then picks him up for a third. But Taker still gets up at 9. Batista bomb attempt but Taker pushes him into the corner to break and chokeslams him. Double KO but they beat the count at 9. Taker does the 10 punch which sets himself up for the batista bomb. Taker is up at 9. Batista grabs a chair and hits him with it. He tries the batista bomb but gets backdropped on the chair. Tombstone follows but Batista is still up before 10. They end up outside and fight up to the entrance display and Batista spears him off the stage and the setup collapses. Nobody beats the count at 20:23 so it's a no contest or draw. Not sure. 3 stars.

Fatal Four Way WWE Championship Match
John Cena Vs Shawn Michaels Vs Edge Vs Randy Orton
The faces cleans house then beat on eachother. Cena gets a fisherman's suplex for 2 then Shawn gets a neckbreaker and Team RKO throws em both out. Edge and Orton slug it out, and Orton dropkicks him to the floor, where Cena sends him back in. Edge gets tripped by Shawn and Cena jumps him then Edge baseball slides them both. Shawn slams Cena on the floor and heads up and hits all three with a moonsault. Back in Edge and Shawn clothelsine eachother. Cena is back in and does a double super fameasser off the top. Orton clotheslines Cena good and throws Edge out then dumps Shawn. Orton backbreaker gets 2. Cena comes back but charges and hits the post. Shawn chops Orton and hits the flying forearm then gets clotheslined by Edge. Orton rolls Shawn up for 2. Edge and Orton decide to work together and double team Shawn. They throw Cena to the announcers table then go back to working Shawn over. Edge and Orton give Shawn a double backdrop then a double boston crab. Cena breaks it up and starts throwing shoulderblocks, and Shawn goes out. Backdrop suplex for Edge and the five knuckle shuffle follows, but now Shawn and Orton team up and pull Cena out of the ring and into the post. Shawn sends Orton into the post too. He tries to piledrive Orton through the table, but Edge hits him in the back with a chair. Then Edge lays out Orton. Back in, Edge charges with the chair, but runs into a droptoehold and STUF by Cena. Edge makes the ropes, then Orton gets the same but Shawn gets a rollup for 2 then gets the forearm and makes the comeback with atomic drops on everyone. Shawn hits Edge with the flying elbow then goes back up and Cena stops him and attempts a super FU but Orton/Edge lift Cena and drop him to the mat while he has Shawn on his shoulders. Cena tries the FU on Edge, but Shawn breaks it up, and Orton hits Shawn with the RKO. Edgecution for Cena gets 2. Edge tries to spear Cena, but runs into Orton, and Cena FU's Edge, then Shawn pops up and superkicks Cena cold and he falls on Orton for the pin at 20:23. Im going 3 1/2 stars, for the Honkee Tonk Man finish.
Overall Opinion: Almost as good as Mania 23. Vince winning the ECW title is the only stain on it.
Final Score: Ill give it a 5.3 star rating out of a perfect 10.0
