She doesn't recognize her own husband as a young guy?
She knows how he looked at 17, and they're not old enough to have dementia so why doesn't she immediately say "Mike? Why do you look 17?".

shareBecause this kinda thing doesn't happen in real life
shareThis ^ If you saw something people wouldn't believe how exactly would you react yourself?
shareStill, I look almost exactly as I did at 17. If I was 17 again people would just think I had some type of detox facial cleanser or something so I don't know why he would be unrecognizable to his wife and best friend. She was 17 when she got pregnant, 18 years later, they were only 35. Just look at some actors today who still looked as they did at 17 more or less. Zac Efron, Ryan Gosling, or Michael Pitt.... Etc.
shareWell people don't really go around thinking about how their partner or ex partner used to look 20 years ago, so if they ever ran into that person in such a situation I think it be very realistic. Especially if we're talking about a case where their appearance has changed a lot since then like Matthew Perry presents in the movie.
B/c the idea of a grown man turning back into a 17-year-old kid is very unrealistic. But she did acknowledge at one point that he looks like her husband when Alex brought him over.
shareWe have to leave our brains at the door when we watch a film with a middle-aged man going back to being 17 years old.
shareShe did! Remember when she saw him when he was playing Basketball?
She was telling her friend sth like:
Thay boy just looks exactly like Mike!
