The problem I had was since they were using mitochondrial DNA, which is passed from mother to child, how they can rule out that the Jesus and Mariame (which was the other DNA they tested, not Maria) weren't father and daughter?

Three reasons. One - they were only able to recover samples suitable for DNA extracting from the Jesus and Mariame ossuaries, if memory serves. Two - what would be the point? The ossuary clearly states that it contained Judah son of Jesus. There was one Jesus in the tomb. No question there. Three - again, mitochondrial DNA can only show mother-child relationships. There would be no matching between Jesus and Judah by definition. You and your father don't share the same mitochondrial DNA. Your MTdna would match your mother, however.

Well, on the strength of that vigorous debunking, and the obvious attention you were paying such that you understood what mitochondrial DNA is and that DNA could only be recovered from two ossuaries and what the labels on the ossuaries were, you've convinced me.

There's a lot of cautious academics not wanting to jump to conclusions (and get death threats). No one has disproven the core facts or logic behind the documentary. Not even you, shockingly enough.

Sir or madam, please learn the definition of "fiction", science or otherwise, before using it in a sentence in public.
