This HOAX has been DEBUNKED - It's all academic now

It turns out this "crockumentary" not only relied almost exclusively upon wild speculation and logical fallacy, it also misrepresented the information supplied by the very experts it featured -- and those experts are not happy about it.

The film makers also knowingly hid facts and misrepresented things like "mason's marks" (marks of a type and purpose well known to even novice craftsmen) in order to fabricate other ridiculous suppositions and mendacious innuendo.

See for yourself and hear the experts in their own words here:

"The Lost Tomb of Jesus" is pathetically laughable, squarely placing its makers in the same category as Michael Moore and others who specialize in sensationalist tripe. It also begs serious questions about The Discovery Channel's credulity and credibility as well as their agenda -- questions they'll likely be in no hurry to address, even as they pretend that's not really egg on their faces.

Nice spam! Also, nice denoucement with no evidence to back up your claims.

And speaking of "logical fallacies", your website claims that its documentaries are designed to prove the reality of the Bible. Sorry, but I think it's more of a logical fallacy to argue that dead people can come back to life and water can turn to wine than that this tomb contained the remains of Jesus. If you're beginning from the non-scientific viewpoint that miracles are real, you're not engaging in academic scholarship, but the actual one pushing an agenda, not the Discovery Channel, whose open agenda is to sell advertising and make revenue.

Also, Michael Moore doesn't engage in "sensationalist tripe", but I'm assuming you believe that health care sucks all over the Western world except for America, global warming is part of some liberal/Masonic/satanic conspiracy, and the earth was made in 7 days.

Regardless, the "Lost Tomb of Jesus" theory is still bunk.

The only one trolling/spamming here seems to be you.

I find it contiually amazing the double standard placed on research that comes out of anywhere but the athiest camp.

Apparently it's easier to believe the scientists that dropped their support (and clearly had their findings taken out of context) from Cameron's silly little documentary MUST have an agenda or be as incompetent as a child. While the filmmakers, who seem to be getting their logic and insights from Dan Brown's playbook, are the real tried and true experts.

Are you just naive? Or do you seriously thinks some glamorizing schmucks from Hollywood have a better grasp on archeology than guys who have actually done it for years?

The doco was pretty helpful there, btw. Thanks for posting it.

The trouble is that critics will say "Christian funded, therefore lies!"

Not lies, just lack of scientific and logical support.

Were you just describing "the Lost Tomb of Jesus" or the critique of it?

Because there are serious problems (both "scientifically and logically" to use your words) with James Cameron's documentary, which is why every expert (again, short of James Tabor) featured in it has withdrawn their support, pointing out how real data was misused and twisted to support Simcha's sensationalist claims.

What's wrong with the critique video?
