Where was her family?

She doesn't mention the surgery is a secret but she does lie and say its in two weeks. David only finds out because he goes to his son for information. My thought is she doesn't want to worry her family and keeps it from them.

The film was winding down and didn't really have time nor reason to bring in the family - they were absent during the film anyhow except for the semi-invisible brother.

They also were in New Jersey and they had to travel over Christie's bridge :-)

Have to laugh at the mention of Christie's bridge. But I, too, was disturbed by the absence of ANYONE in her room as soon as she came out of intensive care. She was close with her family and it stood out like a sore thumb to me.
