True Story...I swear....lol

So My father is very Ill, With COPD, He's been in The Hospital/Rehab since September.

I go see him everyday, as I am extremely close with my Father....

for the last 3 months, We've been watching a Lot of movies(I have a HUGE DVD/Blu Ray collection)

My dad and I are both Lifelong Comic book readers and CBM fans...Today I brought Justice League on Blu Ray...Went to the Hospital to watch it with my dad....

Keep in mind my dad has been in the hospital since September, knows nothing about the movie, has had no access to a computer(doesnt even know how to use a computer) and Has no knowledge of the post production problems

We start the movie, of course the movie starts off with the awful Superman camcorder scene, I watch my dad while hes watching this scene, I notice him making a weird face, his eyes widen, and he finally looks at me and says "Whats wrong with his MOUTH, It looks funny"

I literally laughed out loud, had to pause the film to explain what happened and explain "Mustache Gate" to him

He watched the movie, damn near every scene Superman was in where they CGI'd his mustache out my dad noticed and would shake his head a laugh...

finally the film ends, I asked him what he thought, He somewhat I liked it for the action sequences but said everything else just felt wrong and off and he couldnt explain how...I then revealed to him The Post Production Problems and how the film was made by 2 different directors with completely different styles....This of course immediately made him understand why everything felt off and why he had a hard time explaining it...

I still Laugh at Loud right now thinking about my dads face watch the opening scene, His look of bewilderment and then finally looking at me and saying "What wrong with his mouth, it looks funny"

Even an ill hospital patient can plainly spot the flaws in this film. My question is why the production spent millions to digitally remove Cavill's mustache when he could have shaved it and worn a convincing prosthetic for Mission Impossible (or just waited a couple weeks for it to grow back).

from what I understand this of course was tried...WB desperately tried to work something out with Paramount....but Paramount refused, They would not let Cavill shave his mustache

WB even offered to Pay for whatever costs it would take to CGI the mustache back on in MI Fallout...

WB clearly knew this was a disaster and TRIED to avoid it...but Paramount for some reason Dug in and just Refused to let Cavil Shave....

theories are someone at the top of Paramount had a dislike for someone at the top of WB and just wanted to make it difficult for them

Oh, it definitely reeks of some personal rivalry. Even though a practical mustache would have looked just as convincing as the real thing, no doubt the deciding executive pulled some bullshit CGI budget numbers out of his ass to justify his veto.

Or just add the hair to the few bare faced shots and deal with a hotter looking Superman

Even the make-up crew from the 1966 Batman series did a better job at hiding The Joker's mustache. And they simply used white face paint!

Amateur using face-swap tech fixes Cavill's moustache with a $500 computer better than professional effects crew:

That's a long stay. I hope he feels better and gets home soon. In the meantime, maybe he can enjoy more laughs whether at the expense of bad CGI or otherwise.

Lol, that's hilarious! Even someone who doesn't even know how a computer works knows something is wrong with his mouth! That explains a lot. It's more evidence that they did a terrible job. They should have just let him have facial hair. Who cares if superman has a mustache? I'd much rather him have a mustache than a fake looking CGI baby mouth.

Btw hope your dad gets better and out of the hospital soon, I'll pray for him
