Anyone else seen this yet???? Will it only be available on DVD as that would be a shame.
I saw this film last night on Canal Plus- French TV at the same time it was being shown at Cannes. No expectations, so it was a fun game to identify the Directors before their names came up, and then it was " of course" as style can be very evident. Walter Salles segment is FABULOUS-It is impossible to pick a favourite but what do others feel??
Iñárritu's short, entitled "Anna", was by far the best. Haunting, exhilarating, beautiful, unforgettable. Cronenberg's short was pretty unforgettable, too -- shocking, to say the least. Claude Lelouch's piece was personal and quite moving, while Lars von Trier's segment was uproarous (I didn't know that Lars von Trier could be funny). Wim Wenders' piece was rather sad, while Jane Campion's segment was irreverent and rather bizarre. All in all, some fabulous filmmaking -- truly, though, an attestation of how great a filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu is when stacked up against the others.
angelopoulos is by far the best one if you ask me. absolutely wonderfull! maybe it don't have the same effect on people who arn't as big fanes of theo, moreau, mastroianni & antonioni as me.
