Remake with Patrick Swayze as Avery

I really enjoyed this movie and Brian Cox, but this just begs to be remade in 10 years or so with Patrick Swayze playing Avery ala "JCVD" and "The Wrestler".

...and what would the point of this remake be?

While we're at it, what's the point of remaking movies that are only a few years old, other than lack of new ideas?

reply

the point is to show how a movie can be starred by a dead actor.

when i die, i dont want 'roadhouse' to by my epitaph.

reply

Why not? Roadhouse was a fantastic, fun '80s movie. Nothing to be ashamed of there. What movie do you have to your credit?

Remaking (or rebooting) films that are only a few years old is a way for studios to retain the rights to certain properties. Witness what Fox will do in the next few years as they redo several comic book films in order to avoid having the rights revert back to the original holders. Fantastic Four and Daredevil might see new incarnations relatively soon.

Not that this has anything to do with Red, but, there you go...

Wow, you were spot on, my friend!

Not on this world, pal. May he reast in peace.

Lol I just found this thread. I don't think Patrick Swayze will be starring in the remake of 'Red'

reply

Hahaha. You are silly! Unless that awesome mother f@cker becomes a damn zombie he won't be playing anybody anymore. And by the way this movie does not need to be remade. It just freaking came out and was great.

reply

Oh dear! Someone needs to teach you the meaning of dates! Swayze was alive when OP posted comment.

reply

The dates must be screwed up since one poster from february already remarked Swayze was dead.

Patrick Swayze had been severely ailing for years before he died, and the "edgier" elements on the Internet had been posting RIPs for months before he died. I'm suspect the original poster was joking. I think "Roadhouse" was enormously entertaining, but I think this film wouldn't have worked with Swayze in the role.

This was not an action/revenge film, as much as many would have liked it to be.

Brian Cox is/was perfect for the role.
