The main character is lucky he lives in one of those municipalities where the cops don't hassle you after you waste an entire family on the family's property. My town is full of "reactionary" police who can't see both sides of walking onto someone else's land and killing three people.

The kid that died next to him was killed by someone in his own family. Later he says "two boys died". The father lived and was threatening to sue. So two people died, he was responsible for one.

Looks like you got some facts muddled.
