Major plot difference between Underworld and Legend(Spolier Warning)

I got Underworld for the just past Christmas and beat it and then just got Legend and beat and I found an inconsistency between the 2. In Legend, it shows that after Lara's mom went through the portal in Nepal it got destroyed(here's a link, go to 1:08 and look on the floor) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de6S8gxNAdo&feature=related
So then how did Lara and Amanda get through it at the end of Underworld? Did it magically put itself back together? Lara didn't go back to Nepal till the end of Underworld, she went to the monstary, but never to the portal room.

P.S. Underworld was so much better than Legend. I heard some people say that Legend was the best game and Underworld just missed it. Underworld won by a mile
