I am a big fan of the book

Inhabited Island is a great book and it could be awsome movie too. But for some reason, after seeing the trailers, I think it will not be the same as book.
It will take just main story and dialogs, but it will not have the same feeling.
The movie looks too Hollywoodish, a simple Michael Bay wannabe, trying to be too cool and popular.
I do not expect it to be a good movie, not even by comparison to the book, but as a movie itself.

will it be close to the book with the story and plot? anybody knows?
i've read book long time ago and don't remember it well but i was in love with it.
trailer seems so colorful and vivid. book, as i remember it, was rather dark and gloomy.

It will be close to the book as far as basic story goes. I can see it by the characters and the lines they say in the trailers.
The story will be rearranged differently to fit the time frame of the movie, and of course some sub plots will be cut away. But in general the story will be true to the book, it's just going to feel differently.

And I agree that the look of the movie seems very colorful. I think this "Fifth Element" look a like design is wrong. Much better choice could've been Steampunk or even minimalistic styles.

This is a philosophical dilema - what is better, bad movie based on favorite book, or no movie at all. Oh well, lets see the movie first.

This is a great movie, the trailer left a wrong impression of too much action.
