Murder weapon?
It wasn't completely clear to me whether there was a distinct murder weapon used on the son, mother, and ultimately the father. Any chance someone can clear this up for me?

Looks like mum and son get bludgeoned by the candlestick or whatever it is she throws at him during the nightvision sequence. The cocktail of drink and prescription drugs visible on the coffee table is what eventually does for dad I'd say.
