It says on here:

that Exhibit A is based on a true story.

Is this right?

"Inspired by true events" is more accurate I think.

You only have to pick up a newspaper to read stories (on a fairly regular basis) of fathers turned murderous - massacre at the mansion etc.

I haven't seen this film but the plot instantly reminded me of the french film L'adversaire, which is based on the case of Jean-Claude Romand:

I just saw this film yesterday & thought it was amazing. I'm always interested to find out if real life events inspired a work of fiction. I think the plot of Exhibit A loosely resembles the case of John List. The motive certainly fits, if not the aftermath.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_List

Based on watching the news across the U.S. This is a common story. A lot of murder/suicides involving families.

I don't live too far away from the alleged story tbis is bades on. Movie is excellent, so far. Only 15 mins in a d I thought I was watching a real bome movie.
