'The Dick van Dyke Show'?!

Holy crap, I never thought that iCarly would show a clip from The Dick van Dyke Show!
In these scene, Carly is in the bathtub, I think preparing for a date, and she watches TV, in which a classic scene from The Dick van Dyke Show plays (Episode: "Never Bathe on a Saturday"), where Laura Petrie gets her toe stuck in the faucet; Carly laughs it off, thinking it's impossible for something like that to happen, until it happens to her as well.
I started watching Dick van Dyke last October, when TVLand aired a marathon for its 50th anniversary; I never would've thought that iCarly would borrow one of their jokes like that!

I thought it was cool too at first when they referenced the show, but then when I saw which scene they chose and Carly mimicked it by sticking her toe in the faucet, I knew it was an excuse for Dan Schneider to get another "foot fetish" scene in with Miranda.

I love when shows refer to back to the classics, but I don't like the way it was done in iCarly with an ulterior motive. How disgusting, using such a classic show and one of it's scenes for an obvious and gross foot fetish...

Since you've mentioned it, I think Laura Petrie (Mary Tyler Moore) had a great pair of legs herself back then: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m67dtg4nE81qcra2do1_500.jpg (photo referencing the episode, "Washington vs. the Bunny")
Now, how can we be sure of this "foot fetish" excuse?

Because Dan puts the feet of his young girls in as many episodes as he can get away with. There have been entire episode plots dedicated to showing off feet in as many close ups as possible.

A foot fetish for a producer like Dan is so blatantly obvious on TV to anyone who doesn't have one, because those scenes stick out like a sore thumb (or toe I guess) to anyone who doesn't have one.

Anyone without a foot fetish wouldn't write/approve plots or scenes that revolve around feet because feet aren't that inherently funny to that people write about it without the additional sexual fetish moving the process forward. The amount of foot fetish scenes Dan has put into his shows is too much to be simple co-incidence.

hah ho peace out suckas!

Another reason why I was surprised by this is probably because Dan Schnieder's shows usually always do a parody of the things they show/mention. This was obviously one of the very few times they didn't, though.
