Season DVDs

Does anyone know when Season Six & Seven are coming out on DVD? They should have released it by now but they haven't...

reply

Most likely never. Those seasons weren't especially popular in comparison to the others, and the demographic that buys iCarly is young and therefore resoundingly attuned to the internet -- where iCarly is available to purchase and Nick doesn't have to waste money printing DVDs either.

A complete series set could be released someday, that's the most likely possibility for getting the last seasons on DVD.

Alot of times seasons are released before new seasons. Maybe to get people excited for the next season. They might just not be in a hurry to put it out. Also physical media is a endangered species now on its way to extinctions. Why would you get dressed, waste gas and time driving to a store when you can get it in a few minutes online. Hell you pay more for packaging and the actual disc than a download.

What do you think is going to happen now? but do you own the digital download I heard you get the download but then it disappears from your computer after like three or a couple of days

Truth is physical media is eventually going to go away. Storage both physical on over the Internet is a lot cheaper, quicker, and easier to use. Why do you need a disc anymore? It just takes up space and is a hassle to carry around.

I dont know. Even with digital downloads where are you going to store it? Computers even have a limited amount of space so then where do you put the media?

The problem I have with non physical media is that it leaves me dependent on the Internet media providers.

yeah and Youtube has cracked down on copy rights stuff!

I have all the last season's iCarly episodes on Amazon.com, and I doubt anything will happen to them. However, I really have a problem with "not having my hands on" the episodes.

Now, Amazon says I own these episodes, so I am thinking of finding some way to "rip" these onto a disc.

How do you own them now and I dont know how the ripping does but when you figure it out tell me thanks

It's no-one's 'fault'. That's like asking who was at fault for new release music coming on records.

It depends on where you buy it how long you keep it for.

The amount of storage computers can access these days is far in excess of what consumer grade files are sized at. You can get a 4tb storage hard drive for $160 US. That's enough to store 5000 22 minute episodes at 720p resolution.

As for how to get stuff, I just download from bittorrent/pirate bay.

http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/7856735/iCarly_Complete_Series_720p_S01_-_S06_All_Seasons

There's a full set of the entire shows run in 720p. It's 88gb (which is just 2.5% of a 4tb hard drive).

Of course, if you have bad internet it'll take an eternity to download.

Come out with your hands up, we have you partially surrounded!

Download the individual seasons then. That's how I upgraded the quality of my downloads.

I personally have random episodes from the last seasons on iTunes, but I've been waiting for those seasons to wind up on DVD, despite the fact that it seems to have become a wasted effort.
