Ivey's got a large hill to climb if he's going to win the bracelet ... he's third shortest stack at a 6:1 chip disadvantage to the leader.

I really hope Ivey wins not because he deserves it and is a hell of a player, but I really want the Hold Em craze to die down and we start seeing true pros back at the final table instead of some idiot, card catching donkey. If Ivey wins hopefully its the start of seeing pros back on top, and if Ams want to make it then they'll have to start working on their game and get skilled instead of getting lucky.

At least Moon admitted in an interview that he was card catching and was always hitting everything he needed to win.

Ivey had a monster World Series this year... he won 2 bracelets (in 2 to 7 Lowball, and in Omaha/7 card stud mixed) and made the november 9! that is ridiculous.

he has 7 bracelts now (tied for 6th all time)
6 of his 7 bracelts are in different events - NONE of them in No Limit Holdem
despite not winning a bracelt in hold'em - he made deep runs in the Main Event 3 previous times between 2002-2005 with the fields growing substatially each year. he placed 23rd in 2002. 10th in 2003. and 20th in 2005.
at age 33 he is the youngest player to ever accumulate 7 bracelets (hellmuth was 37)
he won his first bracelet in 2000, taking him only 9 years to win 7... only Johnny Moss was able to get 7 bracelets that fast.
Ivey won 3 of his 7 bracelets in 2002... tying him for the most to be won in 1 year.
Ivey has also made a record 8 WPT final tables... winning one of them.

hellmuth may be the best No Limit Hold'em Tournament player (11 bracelts all in no limit hold'em)

but phil ivey is proving to be the best all around poker player.... not only in tournaments but cash games to.

What are you, chairman of his publicity team?
I'll be shocked if he can pull himself out of the hole he's in now and come back to win the main event ... just for the fact that every other player at the table is going to want him gone first, and will take chances to make it so. He'll have to dodge a lot of cards to keep doubling up and fight back.
