2011 wsop coverage-they really got something

I think they found the world's greatest cure for insomnia. YOu can't even see anybody's hole cards. Even after the hand is over, sometimes you don't get to see what they players had. It's like watching wsop broadcasts from the 90's, but not as entertaining. I understand a lot of people think it's cool to try and guess what the players are holding and all that and it keeps you thinking, but that gets real old real fast after awhile and you really have to pay very close attention. I could watch an hour or so, but I have to wonder whether even the biggest poker junkies can watch over 6 hours of coverage like this every day. They can't actually think this will get the average viewer who's not a poker nut to watch this.

They're still having their tuesday night airings with the same format as previous years with Norman Chad. So Chad is still on the team. He's just not doing the live broadcasts.

I just don't understand how anybody could think that this is the future of tv poker and that this is some fresh idea that's gonna draw in huge audiences. Not only can you not see the cards, but they drown out the table talk too. Those 2 things along with entertaining commentary were the major reasons why people that didn't play poker tuned in to these programs in the first place. And they added an extra gazillion hours of coverage without those things. I tried to watch, I really did. I watched about 6 hours of coverage. Not in one day ofcourse. After that, I had to give up. I couldn't take it anymore.
