Why was he looking at the scorpion in the bottle then murmured something about it being alive before he got shot in the head?
shareI too am interested in hearing this one explained. He had a look in his eyes of realization, as if finally answering his own question was the revealing clue. I don't get it.

Right after they get into the cave The killer makes another mistake about a classic movie or miss remembers what happened and a classic movie. At this point he starts to think that this guy isn't really a screenwriter and is lying.
Just before they went into the cave while he was on the beach he, speaking to himself looking at The worm in his empty bottle, he asked himself the question "do they go in alive or dead." Then at the moment of realization he says "they go in a live" which as someone else says it is a metaphor for entering the cave.
