'different in the mind'
Homeboy's got some form of autism, right?
shareAll it says is "behavioral problems"
shareHe's got Aspergers' Disorder, but they didn't find out till after the movie was finished filming.

"And Are You Beautiful And Pale, With Yellow Hair, Like Her?"
"Do I Dazzle You?"
That was my instinct all the way throughout the film; high functioning aspi, with maybe some perception disorders.
How come they never found out until after they finished shooting??
Surely Billy was not undiagnosed? He is very obviously an aspie to the trained eye.... and obviously suffering a condition of sorts to anyone.
They knew he had Aspergers the whole time. I just finished watching the movie and it was ok, although I wanted more emphasis on who he was. I then watched the special features which actually gave me more of a sense of Billy than the movie had done.
Anyway, one of the special features was an interview with the director. She said that she didn't want to label Billy, because then people would automatically make labels for him based on his condition. She wanted to get people to look at the film to look at it without preconceptions.
