This is a drama, and a good one

Although there is some comedy in this movie, it is basically a drama, inspired by a suicide in Rob Schneider's real-life family. His acting is very good. The movie is uneven, and excellent and moving in places. (Buscemi is great.) I think the imdb rating has been affected by how many people come into the movie expecting something much more like Big Stan than this is. It is dark (sometimes hilariously dark), and thoughtful about pain, rather like American Beauty.
