Not one of the better nature docs...

As the title says, this movie is rather meh. The footage is fun to watch, although ANY sea animal footage usually is. The story, the dialogue, the narration, the music, the cinematography, all rather vanilla bland in my opinion... 6/10.

I have to say that I disagree with your opinion. I found this movie to be quite beautiful and enjoyed watching it.

After reading the credits it appears that portions of this documentary were shot in a studio... and also animatronics were used for a portion of it... I mean I found it interesting and heartwarming at times, but there was probably no need to throw fiction into the mix...

Unless an animal film is associated with David Attenborough, the Nova or Horizon science series, it probably has fiction in it. Meerkat Manor did a good job of not falsifying its story but its about an animal that weighs two pounds. I've never seen a bear or lion film with a storyline that didn't contain large amounts of fiction. I think most people would be surprised and quite disappointed by the film splicing and fiction writing that is standard in most animal films.
