Any movies similar to this?

This movie was pretty cool and caught me off guard. I really enjoyed it. Any other movies like this? A true hidden gem. Reminds me of The Brotherhood of the Wolf movie (iirc the title).

You might want to try the recent British movie Black Death. Here's the trailer;

And the delayed Season of the Witch (finally being released in America on 7th January 2011) looks promising. The trailer;

I was surprised how good Black Death was actually. I don't know why I expected less because it has some fantastic actors in it. Really grim in places.

That's what I would say too. Especially as I kept thinking Hugh Kackman every time I saw James Purefoy in this. The long hair, large hat and long black coat really rang a bell.

The design of Van Helsing was based on REH's Solomon Kane.

Dark Relic (2010) has 11th century Crusader knights battling against demonic forces as they try to deliver a fragment of the True Cross to Rome.

Several on-line reviewers and websites have compared the Hammer movie Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (1974) to the original Solomon Kane stories.

And the upcoming Red Riding Hood (2011) has been dismissed by many as being just a Twilight clone, but it has Gary Oldman as a werewolf-hunting priest called Father Solomon...

i recommend Alatriste, no sorcery but set in the same period and its in spanish, but the main character is viggo mortensen aka aragorn from LOTR

personally, I would say 13th Warrior is pretty similar & not as silly as Van Helsing.

also give Outlander a shot, it's not the best movie ever but I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet.

Have recently seen the Spanish movie El Capitán Trueno y el Santo Grial (English translation: 'Captain Thunder and the Holy Grail') which has been released on Region 2 DVD in the UK as Order of the Grail. Based on a popular Spanish comic book, it has a 13th century Crusader knight trying to prevent an evil sorcerer and his witch sidekick from using the Holy Grail to open a portal to Hell. While not as dark or grim as Solomon Kane (it was shot in sunny Spain), it's an entertaining fantasy/adventure movie that Kane fans may enjoy.

See, WARLOCK.

British actor, Richard Grant was in his prime and looked it. He played a studly-looking, highly-courageous witch-hunter in mid-1600s America. He brought to justice an extremely dangerous warlock, who subsequently escapes into the future to 1980s America to wreak havoc, but the witch-hunter tracks him to the present.

That is indeed a good film.

Speaking of Van Helsing (which was brought up earlier in this topic), did anybody initially think that Solomon looked like a copy of Gabriel Van Helsing, but then realize it was the other way around? That happened to me after I saw this movie just a few minutes ago.
