This Line Hit The Nail Squarely On The Head...
"If you lose your purpose, it's like you're broken."
~ Asa Butterfield as 'Hugo Cabret' in the 2011 film, "Hugo"
ONE OF THE STAGES OF GRIEF:
I'm a thirty-six year old woman, and have been in a nursing facility ever since December 20, 2012, and will always be in a nursing facility, due to advanced and aggressive Multiple Sclerosis. As a result, this line immediately resonated with me upon hearing it. Before, I was the "Donna Reed" housewife, where the inside of the house was my domain. It, along with errands such as the banking, grocery shopping, etc... were my purpose. Now that I can't even bear weight, let alone walk, I am unable to take care of the household, OR, for that matter, myself.
I feel like I lost my purpose: BROKEN.
This is a stage I go through every once in a while, as my legs are "Phantom Limbs", even though I still have them. Seriously, autoimmune diseases are a frickin' *itch!
Like I said before, this line hit the nail squarely on the head.
"You can wish me Well,
or you can wish me Hell."
