What viewing age range?

I have my neice round tonight and have Hugo from Lovefilm. She is 6 is she to young for this film?

reply

He might be a bit bored with it, but my daughters were 7 when they saw it and they enjoyed it immensely.

They tend to be bored with movies fairly easily as well. Now we DID see it in 3D which I do believe helped the situation.

As much as my girls loved the film, I enjoyed it even more. It's a very beautiful and heartwarming movie.

What part of the original post lead you to the assumption that the niece was male?

reply

You had nothing better to do in your day than chide me on a mistaken letter?

You must be just a blast at parties.

What part of my last post lead you to the assumption that I frequent "parties"?

reply

That's a good point.

Doesn't it get lonely sitting on your couch every night covered in cheeto dust?

Ponies.

Thanks, we didnt end up watching it that night but created some interesting drawings instead. I watched it with the Misses the day after and thought it was a wonderful film. I will show it my neice in a few years.

I think it is really worth giving it a try, even at her age. I truly believe that it could be a huge hit for her.

Oh, and don't forget Coraline! I watched it when my girls were 5 and although they got freaked out a bit, they have loved it ever since.

reply

It is a family film, so it should be suitable for all ages.
I think she would like it, at least because it's so stunning to watch. If I were a kid I know I would watch it just because of the visual.

reply

I think overall anybody would love to see this movie!

reply

I just finished watching it and I was intrigued by the film and its quality. I also learned something new about automaton. My dad used to say "Make sure you learn at least one new thing every day". He would have been proud!

If I get another chance, I'd like to watch it again.

You're a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

I haven't seen Hugo yet, but it looks okay. Certainly not as good as Scorsese's masterpieces (Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, etc.). Not saying that you should watch Goodfellas with you six year old nieces, I'd wait 'till they're about twelve for that. At least 15 for The Wolf of Wall Street. Then again, they're female. They probably wouldn't like that macho stuff anyway.
