Why are Gargoyles always evil in these sci-fi channel movies?

Personally I grew up with the animated show Gargoyles, and also the myth behind Gargoyles are that they are statues that face outward to ward off evil. I would like to see one of these movies where they are not all just evil bloodthirsty beings.

I agree. Gargoyles was a great show, and it'd be nice if they didn't always make them evil...

But if the gargoyles weren't evil, then another bunch of critters would have to be brought in to be evil. That's two bunches of critters! The CGI budget would have to be doubled, leading to cuts elsewhere. So Joe Penny and John Ashton would have to arm-wrestle to see who got paid.

Two old men arm-wrestling for a paycheck! Do you really want that?

Oh, how I wish I could believe or understand that!

What you would be asking why did they messed up the myth about gargoyles weren't they supposed to be statues during the day and living creatures during the night then why do we see them attacking during plain daylight.

Primarily because the idiots who produce these SyFy movies think that making mythological creatures evil will bring in more viewers because supposedly they're more interesting than good creatures. Apparently this concept doesn't work judging by the low ratings these type of movies receive (and deserve).

I remember "Gargoyles" too. I even have a playing card deck based on that toon.
