Other English tv series you would recommend?

I got season one of this for my mother and she loved it. She enjoys shows about relationships such as this, so I was wondering what else fans of this enjoy to watch (that's similar, also British). There's some time to kill before season two of this, so I figured I'd ask.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try Cutting It, also starring Sarah Parish. It's one of my favourite shows of all time and has a lot of juicy messy relationship stuff going on.

Thanks - just saw your response. I'll give that a shot.

Yeah, "Cutting It" was great.
Another female centered BBC series that was great is "Real Women". I think that's only available on video at the mo, but it's brilliant. Hopefully it'll be out on DVD soon.

Hmmm... I imdb'd that, but couldn't find it. Do you have a link?

Thanks!

I loved Cold Feet. I think we only got one season here in the US. Thanks for reminding me of the show, I'll look to see if I can rent it.

COLD FEET was excellent. The story lines were more realistic too.

There was another relationship show on BBC America which I really enjoyed. It was about a group of young lawyers sharing a house. I think they were all lawyers, except for one character who was trying to be a writer.

One of the guys from "Coupling" was in it,Jack Davenport, he was involved with a sleazy lying junkie who told him she was a model, that was an absurd storyline because it was so obvious she was lying yet he kept seeing her, thankfully it didn't go on too long.

The other characters were a gay guy, another straight guy and two straight women. Anyone remember this show?

Yes. It was called This Life - and a couple of years ago they did a re-union show which everyone got very excited about - but sadly it was a bit of a let down.

The TV series itself was great though.

Have her check out Rosemary & Thyme....a great mystery series with 2
women sleuths who garden and keep finding bodies in the gardens they
are redoing. Funny and the scenery is beautiful. Here's a synopsis from
Amazon. My local library had all 3 seasons. I'm a middle aged woman so
it's great there's still some shows with the likes of us in them ;o)

<begin snip>Laura Thyme, a former policewoman and garden-loving housewife, has just lost her husband to a much younger woman when she meets Rosemary Boxer, a plant biologist who has just lost her university teaching post. A suspicious death brings them together, and they combine their gardening skills and natural curiosity to dig deeper. Despite the success of their first "case," Laura and Rosemary hope their blossoming friendship will lead to gardening commissions, not detective work. But mysteries have a habit of following them around in this appealing series that combines two British specialties: gardening and mystery.

Shot on location in stunning countryside settings, Rosemary & Thyme stars the dynamic acting duo Felicity Kendal (Good Neighbors, The Camomile Lawn) and Pam Ferris (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Matilda).<end snip>
