Spoilers!!! Arabs from Afghanistan?

Afghanistan is where they said the refugee camp was, wasn't it? Cooper's virus specifically kills Arabs and no one else, not even other Semitic peoples, but Afghans aren't Arabs. Of course they do say it was a refugee camp, so they don't have to be Afghans, but where would they be seeking refuge from? Afghanistan is bordered by Pakistan in the south and east, Iran in the west, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to the north. None of those are Arab countries either. Besides, why would a fanatical microbiologist bent on protecting the UK from terrorism specifically target Arabs? The 7/7 bombers were two Pakistanis, a Sikh, and a Jamaican convert. Cooper's ethnic bomb wouldn't have stopped that.

I didn't realize that until you wrote this. You are absolutely right. The writer(s)were probably relying on most viewers not knowing that or not caring.

I enjoyed watching the series, but we were not given enough background or dialogue to make sense of it. This is probably because there were a lot of holes in the plot they couldn't fill in.
