ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!

*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*

There is not nearly enough space to cover everything that was wrong with this movie so I'll just try to condense it into a few points: 1) The "teenage" girls looked to be as old or older than the "Mother" and the one in the cheap polyester blonde wig would have been more appropriately cast as a truck stop hooker being given a ride.. 2) The overacting of the woman at the grocery/gas station near the beginning was painful to watch. 3) Did anyone else notice that one of the deformed guys looked a LOT like the ogre from "The Goonies"? To be fair I will say that I thought the opening credits were well done and imaginitve in the way they incorporated old freakshow photographs. I'm a sucker for the packaging and so often get screwed when taking a chance on something like this. This was BAAAAADDD!!!

No doubt. I think she wanted to act like a very old granny, but...epic fail.

Oh, so I see that you're both filmmakers.

reply

As for me, you see that wrong. I'm not a filmmaker. Don't get your point. I don't have to be a filmmaker to recognize a *beep* acting that goes beyond untalented.

reply

Since when does one have to be a filmmaker to recognize substandard work in that medium? I'm not a gourmet chef either but I know rotten food when I taste it. Besides, the main focus of my criticism was the awful acting which (according to your logic) I am well qualified to judge as I've had roles in small community theater productions over the years. So let me just say that I am admittedly a pretty bad actor and did those plays for fun but next to the "performances" of some of the "actors" in this fiasco- I feel like freakin' AL PACINO!!

I didn't think this movie was "awful", but I will agree on your points, teh woman playing the grandma was WAAAAY overdoing it and the blondie in the wig was...laughable in that thing. The freak kid was also a TERRIBLE actor, I know he's a kid & all, but man, did he sound like he was reading when he was telling off the grandma right before he gets shot.

As for the baddies, the makeup was pretty bad, the guy that ate the baby rat or whatever that rodent thing was, his makeup looked like it was peeling off through most of his close up shots...tsk tsk...still, I can overlook SOME things if the movie manages to entertain & that it did! My "fair" rating below.
