Questions for you all..

1. Why didn't Helen save Ashley? It's your kid, its okay to be hypocritical and kill adams kid and save your own. It's ok Helen.

I would just wait outside the sanctuary and the exact moment Ashley teleports I would hit the EM field with some kind of blast from the outside, so she actually escapes it, then I would knock her out with some type of gas or chemical agent (planned before hand) And put her in stasis. So she is 'dead' to everyone that is alive and untraceable.

When the timelime is then returned to when Helen has gone back to the past, everything that happens from then on would be 'new' future and you can do whatever you want, like releasing Ashley from stasis and having your kid back, NO PROBLEMS.

2. I strongly believe James Watson to be alive. This would be awesome for the show, as he is a very cool character. Helen left too many clues in the past for SHERLOCK HOLMES. Of course hes going to deduce what happens and probably find a way to live without that machine. In upcoming episodes I expect the '113 year Helen' to need someone really smart to figure something out, but tesla won't be around so then will says ' why dont we call up the smartest man in history?' and then she will be like 'what????' and then James will show up all badass and she'll be confused as hell.

3. I would have invested like so much $ in apple/m$/google etc that the sanctuary would have like 5 trillion in assets if i were Helen. Anyone else think that she did that?

4. Druit? So was spring heel Jack (the abnormal) jack the ripper? Or is Druitt jack the ripper, or were they BOTH jack the ripper? lol

5. I love these characters, I warmed up to Ashley and Kate right before they left. I call this fantastic character development and growth, because i really hated them before. The dialogue and characters mentioning stuff that happens in earlier episodes or from popular media are really awesome. Will usually says the stuff I think right when I see stuff on screen, which is awesome writing.

I really Love this show now.

3. Money is just a plot device. She could have $tashed away a lot or the gov could have found it and seized it.

Great post! These are very interesting questions. I'll add my take on some of them.

1. I think a lot of people would attempt exactly what you're suggesting. But I don't think Helen would. IMO, she is so principled that she wouldn't do anything that might jepordize others. And the attempt you're suggesting could have jepordized others because there is no guarantee it would have worked. Lots of things could have gone wrong, and then she would have screwed up the timeline and perhaps caused other people to be hurt. So, no, I don't have a problem with Helen's lack of action with respect to Ashley.

2. I agree that he's a great character, but I don't think he's alive at this point. I just haven't seen anything to indicate that.

3. Yeah - I would have invested in Google/Apple/Facebook/Chain Restaurants and Stores; I would have invented Post It Notes and ziploc bags; and I would have bet on Superbowls, NBA championships, NHL championships, MLB championships and tennis matches. It does seem like the Sanctuary has a lot more money though, so I think she did some of this.

4. Yeah, I'm not sure. Until the time travel episode, I always thought Druitt was the ripper.

5. I never warmed up to Ashley, but I liked Kate relatively early on.

4. Druitt was the ripper. Spring Heel Jack's murders(and the time travel story story)took place (years?) after the actual Ripper murders. Watson blamed Druitt for SPJ's murders because of the original White Chapel killings that he knew Druitt committed.

Monger has it correct about 4. Spring Heel Jack was an entirely separate thing in real life from Jack the Ripper who was known for superhuman leaping. In the show, Watson believes that Spring Heel Jack and Jack the Ripper are one and the same. Future Helen simply tells him to keep his mind open, and by the end of the episode Watson figures out that Spring Heel Jack is an abnormal and not John Druitt as he had thought.

In short, Druitt WAS Jack the Ripper and Spring Heel Jack was a random abnormal.
