Does it end with a cliffhanger or is wraped up nicely?

the show is mostly episodic but each season has the usual story arc referenced in most episodes.
It ends on a conclusive note.
I lost the thread once they started the story arc about the whole population coming out of the underground location, etc.
Didn't realize it was cancelled until I saw 'Henry' on 'Falling Skies'
OMG! (it's not what you think)
Maybe if they hadn't waited on 50% of the story arc and then crammed it into the finale.
