Novels with a similar concept as Sanctuary?

I've been thinking about the concept of the show. The whole Sanctuary network, helping abnormals and team ending up with weird and new encounters, it was a brilliant touch even if the execution was uneven. Anyway, the concept would work just as great with a far easier way to execute as long as it's well written.

Any ideas?
