Canadian/UK only actors?

I'm not sure but was there a reason for the main cast being from Canada (or uk)? Like, more value for money?

It was a Canadian production. They tend to hire their own, and might even have legal restrictions on foreign actors.

Oh right. One more thing - I'm watching this every morning, was the show originally an "adult"Sci fi, or was it a show fit for kids? I ask because obviously there is no violence or sex shown at this time of day, but I think the show would be so much better if it was full of blood, sex, rock and roll lol

Sanctuary was PG-13 as ScyFi network shows tend to be. And I like it that way so it didn't fall victim to we gotta have show bewbs habit of The Outer Limits.

Oh I like to see boobs, but its much more a case of I really like gore and violence in horror/monster-type shows. I cannot get a sense of fear or desperation otherwise. That's what I really like about The Strain...But this show is different, it has a child-friendly vibe about it, which I like, I just dont expect such a vibe from a show about beasts and demonic serial killer freaks😁

No it would not.
That would just reduce it to being completely shallow.
There's plenty of violence in what I am watching now. (Season 2 episode 2)

It was made in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Vancouver has 2 movie studio's,North Shore Studio's and The Bridge Studio's.The city is in the top 4 cities in North America for film production.I always see film crews around the city,as many series,and movies are filmed here.The producers do save money with tax breaks,and a weak Canadian Dollar.Usually the actors are a mix of Canadian and American.I didn't see this series until recently so I am enjoying it now in reruns.
