its really rude!! but only rude to people who understand everything. i wouldnt think that an 8 year old knows what a brazilian wax is, and if they do then this film will prob not really have much effect. also they shouldnt know what poppers are. thats what most of the rude/drug references are. its only rude if u understand them.
I thought that bit where they imply that Chelsea sucked that security guard offf was a bit much, they could have just had her apear then him looking all ruffled like he did. That Count joke was a bit suacy too
Haha are these like all british terms? Because I live in the U.S. And I dont think ive heard of those...well except for poppers. But, what the heck is a brazilian wax?...watch its something really obvious right? Lol.
I remember in Will and Grace, where Grace described a Dutch Wax. It's just like a Brazilian Wax except it hurts so much she has to have a Dutch waffle afterwards. What is it...ummm..have you ever heard the term "back, sac and crack"? Well this is the female equivalent.
Brazilian Wax A questionable practice wherein hot wax strips are placed on the pubic hair, and after it cools, the whole mess is ripped off, taking the hair with it. It is so named because it is believed to have originated in Brazil, where swimsuits are notoriously tiny.
Poppers Slang term for a vial of amyl nitrite or butyl nitrite, used illegally as a recreational drug that induces euphoria.
yes, but your gna get girls 8/9/10 seeing this film, fair enough, as i doubt they'll get all the jokes. I recently saw it for the second time and only got the 'head girl' one. lol. But i do think that this film may influence very young girls to think that its ok to dress and behaive like that. But parents should explain to them that its not ect.... The film is rude, but i hope young girls dont understand all jokes, in fact i hope 11/12 year olds dont get all the jokes. But like i said...i didnt :P I'm 19 lolz!
Clearly the movie is NOT intended for 11-15 year olds, it has a 15 rating for a start. Had it been intended for younger it would be PG or 12. Also the language is pretty strong, nothing worse than you hear at school, but I doubt the movie could have gotten a younger rating without it being rubbish.
lol did anyone else get the whole sign posts, i.e. the "keep off the grass", was changed to, "keep off your head" and there was one with skunk aswell hah.
The bit where Colin Firth is in the dressing room and one of the girls is saying "Oh it's too big for me to handle, but when I can manage it I will be made head girl"
i didnt actually get half of the things they said in film, i found out what they all meant later. but to be honest, if you knwo what they are, its unlikley you'll find them rude and everyone else is blissfully unaware of the meaning :P
The movie is following the previous St Trinian's movies. The concept is, the older girls 6th form are seen as smoking, swearing, flirting and seducing tarts. (Far from being prim and proper young lady's school). While first form (original 4th form) are seen as wild angry girls who are out of control and use hockey sticks as their weapon (hence the many references to hockey) of choice.
If you see the previous St Trinian's movie clips on youtube, I believe it is the original "Belles of St Trinian's" where the school is holding a play night and it is Hamlet. One of the girls is saying "To be or not to be" line while she is stripping down to her bra and panties in front of the Minister of Education and his assitant.
Also the concept of Flash being a man in his late 20s/early 30s being sucked/seduced by Kelly isn't new. In the original movie they had a similar character as flash and the girls drapped themselves around him.
(I am right to think that St Trinian's started the fantasy of the naughty school girl/ girls in school uniform for men?)
I let my eight year old cousin watch it, he had no idea what the lines were about he just enjoyed watching the girls fight and the scene where the Chav, Emo and Kelly steal the painting.
It's only the older jokes that made me laugh. Even with the drug/alcohol and sex references
Chelsea (upon seeing the vemeer painting): "Oh my god, it really does look like Scarlett Johanson - no wonder Leo DiCaprio wanted to shag her!"
Or something to that effect. Another risque line from the movie. The original Trinian's movies were not aimed at children, neither is this one. However all of the movies have used only suggestive imagery or borderline language instead of outright 'Animal House' behaviour - that way most of the riskier jokes will go over children's heads.
I'd show this to my 7 year old son. I can only hope that the US release doesn't tame it down into some kind of kid's flick like they do with most other borderline brit movies.

At least America is no where near as bad as Big Brother loving Britain. They aren't even allowed to watch a movie till their government rates it. They weren't even allowed to watch the uncensored version of Last House on the Left (1972) till last year.
Just when you think Big Brother was allowing the British a little bit more freedom in the media, this year they passed the extreme porn law to reign in thought crimes.
My Secret Life, a British biography, has been in print in America since the 60's. The British weren't allowed to read it until 1995.
So there may be some prudes in America, but at least all our media doesn't have to be approved by Big Brother.
Probably because all of your media is created by Big Brother? A bit odd that all of your news channels show different things according to which political party they support...
That's a bit 3rd world 'dictatory' to this Brit.

I generally think that British teen films are alot more adult in the respect that some of the jokes will be understood by the elder generation watching the movie because lets face it St. Trinians maybe a kid-ish film but I'm 20 and I went to see the first and the second one and most of the jokes in those films tottaly flew by everyone else but I was in bits laughing. But the children in the theatre didnt even realise it was rude .. so I see no harm in it. On another hand I really dont think St. Trinians 2 would have got away with a 12 and over rating in the states, infact I dont think most things would. Look at skins , it is heavy HEAVILY edited (which defeats teh purpose). I actually said in the theatre for St. Trinians 2 that there was no way when I was younger this would have been a 12 n over.
Now I’m not a saint but I’m not a sinner Now everything is cool as long as I'm gettin thinner.
I have just seen the film on dvd and was a bit surprised at what they got away with. Only being a 12 alot of the jokes would go way over the kids heads and the adult humour is mostly for they well...adults! Hell you even get some risky stuff in something like Shrek! lol so i suppose that is all fine but the 'Count' jokes, shagging Scarlett Johansen, casual drink/drug use, semi-nakid school girls with an adult man hiding in a girls dressing room while they are in underwear taking his trousers down, school girls shagging the Eaton boys to 'tire them out', plus the girl sucking off the security guard at the gallery...it was all very funny but i am surprised they got away with a 12 rating
Ratigan...I think you're a slimy, contemptible sewer rat!
Definitely funny; watched it with my kid sister and she didnt understand half the movie references or jokes but it was cool (I prefered it that way :D). She wouldnt get the Sex Pistols' Wet Dream that St. Trinians was in this movie.
Memorable Line in the movie: "Mr. Darcy seems to like you" <--- I love how they took a very subtle approach to rowdy vulgarity.
An onion can make people cry, but there is no vegetable invented to make them laugh.
