What does Rupert Everett say ***POSSIBLE SPOILER***

After his dog's funeral?

He talks about the dog having made the greatest sacrifice etc and every-one looks sad. He then ends it with ""(something something bit I can't understand) Mr. D'Arcy! and everyone cheers and dances.

Does any-one have a clue as to what he says?

reply

I take it no one knows or cares.
Ho hum.

This one is for Mr. Darcy! (?)

I havent see much sense of this.

reply

Thanks Johnrainbow.

I don't see the sense in it either

Wasn't the dog's name Mr. Darcy? I think it'd make perfect sense if it was...

Yes that was the dog's name, but they go from being very sad to suddenly elated after he/she says it. That's the bit I don't get.

"this one's for mister darcy" means that they're going to go through with the plan in his honour, as like a tribute to his memory. that's why they're cheering, because they are being given permission to steal a valuable painting but now they're doing it for an even bigger reason than just to save the school.

hope this helps!

Aha! Thank you for making yourself highly visible this once, invisible girl.

It all makes sense now, thanks very much.
It seems so obvious now you say it and I watch it again.

"Miss" Fritton was somewhat hesitant about earning rescue cash by committing grand theft of a classic work of art. However, after the death of her dog, and seeing how the whole school grieved along side "her", "she" yelled her approval for the heist with the statement "This one's for Mr. D'Arcy!" Meaning her dog's brutal death threw her over to the girls' side.
