2-4 are yet to come I guess. Because batman thing and the david coperfield thing were really good movies but not in kind of acting. yes he was good in both movies too but they are not acting focused movies. the prestige had the thilling script and the batman had the nolan charm. and if we will talk about acting in batman the ledger guy owned christian there.

I was looking for whoever would put "Empire of the Sun" in this list. I agree. I always thought the slow change of his gaze at the end, where he seems in a fog then finally slowly recognizing his folks, was perfect.
I like everything he's done (even Newsies, wha?) and let's not forget a nice little role in Henry V.

Ive only seen him in those 2- American Psycho and The Fighter. Of course he is outstanding in both of them, but I give his AP more props because obviously his character was the central figure.

So...its only me who thinks Hash Times was one of bale's best works if not the best....whatever here are my top 5...
1) American Psycho
2) The Machinist / The Fighter
3) Harsh Times
4) The Prestige (a very underrated film by nolan with an equally underrated performance by bale)
5) Empire Of The Sun / Rescue Dawn
Honorable Mentions : BB & TDK, All The Little Animals, The New World and one of my favorite roles of christian bale as Melvin Purvis in Public Enemies.
PS : Quite an impressive filmography for a mere 37 year old actor...great going Bale...!!!
