What did that pack of fugly sisters do all day?

Did any of them work? How old were they supposed to be? It looked like they were all in their 20s and 30s. Were they all just so disgustingly fugly that no one would even date them, and that's the reason why they were all still living at home?

What was the backstory about them, I wonder.

Don't know the backstory on the real sisters however the film certainly implied your assessment of them being fugly, unemployed and living at home sans boyfriends/husbands.

Interestingly one of the actresses playing a "sister" was Conan O'Brian's real sister. Also, the actresses were intentionally skanked up for those roles. I even thought one might be a genetic anomaly. They are much more attractive in real life. http://imgur.com/bEvVCmd

Well, that one in the blue dress to the right of center was pretty hot even in the movie.

The youngest one was actually pretty cute.

Yeah, I think she was the one with some cameltoe. Nice.

I'm watching the movie now. Came here hoping someone else was ragging on those nasty sisters. What a nightmare crowd they are. But in point of fact... everyone was playing a white trash role and doing it well. (except for maybe Wahlberg).

No question. And I'll even go for Wahlberg. And Adams.

One of the things that makes a really quality movie to me is losing myself in it. By that, I mean that I don't doubt - even for a millisecond - that these characters exist, that I'm not watching actors doing roles. I'm not saying that I want movies to be documentaries, but that the acting just disappears. The actors become their characters, and you are transported into their world. To me, that's a good movie.

Here's a quick counter-example off the top of my head - Iron Man. Now, don't get me wrong, that is a fun flick! I love it. But I know the entire time that that is Robert Downey, Jr.; y'know what I mean? He's not even acting - it's just him, placed in these situations. Kind of like Sam Rockwell in IM2, and almost every other role I've ever seen him in (except Moon). I don't lose myself in the picture.

I just watched the movie again and decided to come check out the message board and just had to answer this post. "Were they all so fugly that no one would even date them.." funny you should say that because my father actually dated one of the sisters, Alice. He grew up with the family and were best friends with the siblings, particularly Dickie and Micky. I've heard a lot of stories and from what my father told me they had a difficult home life. Anyway, the sisters weren't as trashy and rude as portrayed, but they did have their occasional bar fights here and there. They also had jobs such as waitressing so no, they did not stay home all day. They were overall a great family, and anyone that grew up in Lowell between the 70's and 90's were, for the most part, were great friends with the family.

Interesting thanks for sharing I can bet but they'd be pissed with the portrayal of them here.

Edit: Reading the trivia it says the family didn't like the portrayal either and one of them walked out a screening.
