They kept talking about how models have to have attitude and they showed most of the models being tough with an attitude, but in real life models don't really have attitudes. They're usually sweet and shy.

The director's intention is to project the negative side of the fashion industry's models. He is not stating that every model is a drug addict and alcholic. You may recall that Janet was a simple person and possessed positive characteristics in contrast to others.

However I do understand your opinion.
