Fellini-esque

In a quick run-through of the message boards and a few reviews, I've seen mention of Rocco And His Brothers and La Notte, but the Italian director I kept recalling throughout the B&W scenes was Fellini. I can't make the argument along plot lines, except for maybe the wild, strong, dominating women, but rather stylistically. And I'm not suggesting Tetro is some sort of Fellini homage, but I do think Fellini's influence is present.

I wholeheartedly agree. There were several scenes that looked like a modernized Fellini. It had a certain feeling to it that Fellini had.

Especially the absurd version of Fausta!

reply

Yes indeed, as if Fellini directed a script by Tennessee Williams.
