Why Did His Wife Run Out of the Hotel???!!!!

What a moron..... I realize she was pregnant, and had been holed up in that room for two weeks, but I honestly thought I missed something. I rewinded the film to make sure, and nope. She just kinda wigs the **** out, and runs out of the hotel for really no reason at all...

Did she need some McDonalds? Were all the toilets in the hotel out of order and she had to take a dump? I mean come on.. This, on top of many other cheesy, unexplained actions, make this film very laughable. I know I posted a similar message about this, but I wanted to address this scene in particular to see what others thought.

I'd also like to know how one of Dolan's goons was able to fasten a bomb on to the car with the police right there outside the hotel all day and night watching everything.

dude are you serious or just a moron just like the wife? She ran out of the freking motel to buy the pregnancy test! Yes I know cheesy nonetheless but at least that was the reason!
I can't belive you missed that being that the entire freking movie up to her being killed was them really wanted to have a baby!!!

You might be right, but it was still a ridiculously stupid scene and I could name plenty more asinine scenes in this unbelievably stupid film. It sounds like you enjoyed it. I'm sorry....

No, man. He's right. The girl just had an overly emotional response to the fact that she had just thrown up and thought she was pregnant. She was out of the home pregnancy tests and she took leave of her senses to go to the car so she could drive to get them. Would she have been better off just asking the cops outside to run and get her one? Yes. But the stir craziness got to her. It's perfectly valid to me.

But admittedly, upon reflection, it is difficult to see how the bomb in the car got there without the police knowing. Maybe that's just the case of a first time director wanting an explosion in his film.

I really had a problem with the bomb as well. Why couldn't she have gotten into the car, sped off and then been run off the road and killed by Dolan's goons? I guess that wouldn't have looked as good as the explosion.

The bomb was part of the original novella but King never had to explain anything and never explicitly described such things as the hotel with the police watch. If you wanted an expaination you could speculate something such as one of Dolan's men posing as a valet for the hotel or something, it's not entirely important though really.

It may be valid if they set her up as moron bimbo. You dont suddenly drop in IQ to kindegarten level just because you realize your pregnant. If she was smart enough to follow with the plan and thought about it so much she knew the procedure perfectly well.
She was a moron, for no other reason but to kill her. It may have been different in a book, i havent read it, but this movie presented her as having temporary psichosis mental disorder, because that is the only way to explain it.
